Scorchers v Ripley Rockets Under 9 Match Report

It was a glorious sunny day for our tie with Ripley Rockets. 3 Games played and honours even for the under 9 squad this week.
For the first time we we mixed the squad with the under 9's and under 8's playing together. In the first game, it took a while for the team to gel resulting in a an early gaol for the Rockets. Heads didn't drop though and the team stormed back with shots peppering the Rockets goal until Tom thumped home an equaliser. Scotton kept up the pressure throughout the game only to see Ripley win the game 2-1.
The second match was an equally hard fought game which ended in a hard fought draw with 1 goal apiece, Darren scoring for the Scorchers.
The last game was a masterpiece of team work, with the Scorchers storming home to finish 5-1 winners with Callum (*2) Wilf, Charley and James Broady all making the score sheet. What was even more pleasing than the the score line was was how the team played together, particularly as there were a number of substitutions throughout.
Overall, the 3 games were excellent and the squad played exceedingly well. 3 games, 3 teams all playing to the same high standard, passing the ball and surging forwards at every opportunity with good solid defending.
Well done the Scorchers!
