Scotton Scorchers Awarded WRCFA Charter Standard Development Club of the Year 2012

Scotton Scorchers JFC was recently nominated in the FA Community Awards and we are pleased to announce that we were successful and voted ‘WRCFA Charter Standard Development Club of the Year 2012’.

This is a huge and fantastic achievement for all concerned with our great club - players, parents, coaches, sponsors and Committee!

Scotton Scorchers have been a Charter Standard club for many years and have recently developed up to the next level by becoming a Charter Standard Development club.  To achieve this we not only have to achieve the minimum standards for the FA Charter Standard (details of which can be found here),but we must also commit to developing the skills of our coaches as well as creating a sustainable development plan for the club and each squad.  Those of you that have been with Scotton for several years will know that we are constantly creating new development teams in both boys and, more unusually, the girls section of the club and we ensure that we have all of our lead coaches at FA Level 1 and are funding coaches progression to Level 2 in several cases.

This award recognises the effort that all the volunteers that put in some much hard work to make the club both an enjoyable place for kids to develop and enjoy football but also being a key part of the wider community. WRCFA have recognised that Scotton Scorchers JFC are ‘helping raise the standards of football but also providing a safe and fun environment for everyone involved in the game’ and our nomination has now been passed to the FA Regional Football Development Manager (Yorkshire & North East), and will be judged against other County Winners from our region, in order for an overall regional winner to be selected.

We are in the closed season and I hope that you are all enjoying your summer break.  We are busy preparing for the new season and hope to see you all back on 18th August, but I couldn’t wait to share this fantastic news with you.
