Scotton U7's kicked off the season with two hard fought, close victories
against Tockwith.
In match 1 Scotton played really well with lots of good skills and
possession. The team had 2 new boys playing - Tom and Jake, both playing
really well in their first outing. Goals from Harrison and Ben Tweed put
Scotton 2 up at half time with the second half continuing to be a tight game
with Tockwith pulling a goal back late on however the boys held on with some
great defending from Ben wilson and Edward with James going close to a 3rd
goal as the boys ran out 2-1 winners.
Scotton started the second match strongly with some great teamwork both
attacking and defending with 3 goals from Harrison to lead 3-0 following
some really good team possession, passing and skills. Tockwith came back
strongly in the second half with 2 quick goals and almost equalised but for
a great save from Elliot to hold on to a 3-2 win.
Overall the boys played really well as a team and the man of the match
awards were close with the awards going to Ben Tweed for his overall
performance in the first game and Harrison for his performance and a hatrick
in the second match - but well done to all the boys in the first game.
